Dynamic Identity Experiment

In the offline or print world there's something called a modular identity system, look it up, cool concept. Online we have #design and #code to create all kinds of effects.
So, based on the concept of a modular identity system I built a "dynamic identity" (yeah, that's how I named it) made purely with code.
In short, the logo on the WHEN, WHAT, WHERE Events in Jerusalem website is rotated depending on the time of day you visit the site.
One line of PHP to calculate the angle based on current time of day and some custom CSS on load time and voila an identity that is subtly "animated" on every visit.
But, before that you do need a logo that is palindromic in its nature for this particular effect to work. I had this in mind before I did the graphic work and this is the final result of code and design complementing each other. Nothing flashy or big just a simple implementation of an idea.
Since 2006. Made by women. In print and #online the Austria / #Berlin based magazine founded by the two sisters Christine and Sigrun is all about #photography, #fashion, #music, travel, sex, art, youth-#culture and thought-provoking texts from all over the world.
It has always been a radical act to share stories during dark times. They are regenerative spaces of creation and renewal. As we experience the desecration of our lands and waters, the extinguishing of species, and a loss of sacred connection to the earth, we look to emerging stories. In them we find the timeless connections between ecology, #culture, and spirituality.

In publication since 1999, we are an independent journal that appears online as well as in annual print issues. We don’t adhere to any particular themes or tastes, but some people tell us they see one, maybe there’s something there? #literature #magazine
Pronounced like #magazine—without the mag—zines are self-published, independently made, usually photocopied, and have a small print run. Zines rose to prominence in the 70s but one could argue that they have been around since the invention of Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press in 1439.
Yes, twenty-three years ago it was (we keep updating this number). We were kids who didn’t know squat about print publishing and now we’re older and we don’t know squat about web publishing. But we hope Pulp International manages to entertain. It’s a bit different from our old Pulp, but it’s similar in many ways too. It's also different from the textbook defnintion of pulp, but we're going with a personal take on the art form. We’ll be looking for pulp everywhere—certainly in the accepted places such as vintage magazines and books, but we'll also be posting old tabloids, memorabilia, and various types of ephemera. We'll be looking at movies from the blaxploitation, sexploitation, #film noir, horror, sci-fi, and psychedelia genres. And we’ll even be looking for pulp events—that is, real-world occurrences with a touch of deceit, corruption, or the fantastic, because those too fit what we're trying to do. #book #photography #culture
